Daedalus Projects was undertaken as the thesis project to my undergraduate work at Carleton College. Its primary goals were, one one hand, to explore how one goes about deciding what is art in what contexts, and on the other hand, lampooning corporate ethics and environments through their use of language. In common between these two ideas was the way in which language can create a sense of authority which has real ramifications on the way we interact with and understand the world. Daedalus Projects attempted to interweave with life, taking the form of videos, a social media presence, tabling sessions in public places, the selling of falsified stocks, the production of product books and back story texts, and an eventual exhibition celebrating the companies histories and plans.
